Star Clusters
Many stars occur in clusters and there are two basic types. Open Clusters consist of loosely packed young stars and may contain tens of thousands of stars. Globular Clusters are much older and contain several hundered thousand stars. Unlike open clusters, single stars are very difficult to resolve in globular clusters. Hence, through the telescope they look like globs of light.
