| Object: | This nebula, in the summer constellation of Cygnus, is the brighter eastern part of the Veil supernova remnant. The supernova exploded about 5,000 years ago and was 1,000,000,000.000,000,000 times more violent than the most powerful hydrogen bomb. We see the lacework owing to the fluorscence of the various gases being acted on by the schockwave. | |
