M81 (NGC 3031): Bode's Galaxy

Object: This spiral galaxy, in the constellation of Ursa Major, had an encounter 600 million years ago with galaxy M82 (see here here for a wide-field image of both galaxies). It rules a group of about 13 galaxies in this area.
Exposure: L:55x300s, R:13x300s, G:12x300s, B:12x300s
Equipment: Orion Optics OMC 250mm f/9. 0.67 AP reducer. SXVF-H9 CCD [L:1x1 mode, RGB: 2x2 mode]. Astronomic filters.
Location: 8th, 10th, 11th, & 12th Feb. 2008 23:30 UT, Oxford UK.
