| Object: | This open cluster, in the constellation of Taurus, is the most impressive in the northern sky. The image shows the bluish nebulosity which is difficult to pick out in a light-polluted sky. Current observations suggest this nebulosity is not associated with the birth of these young stars, but is rather a cloud of gas which is being illuminated by the Pleiades as they passes through it. | |
